In case you did not know...
Girls = Drama.
It's true. This morning I reeeeally wanted Morgan to wear this...
Cute huh!? My mom got it for her for her birthday and it looks so good on her! Morgan likes it except she cannot handle its collar. So, she stammered around giving me lots of reasons why she couldn't wear it and I totally kept my cool (I learned long ago that fighting over an outfit never ends in my favor). Finally, I told her I would give her a dollar if she wore it to school...I find no shame in bribing my children...besides, I thought if she wore it once, her opinion might change. The money sparked her interest and she reluctantly put it on.
Bad Idea.
The next 10 minutes produced tears and screams like this:
"You are so unfashionable!!! You don't know anything about fashion! I have never seen this on the cover of a fashion magazine! Nobody wears collars like this....NOBODY! Just give it to Ruthie!!"
Ironically, Ruthie happened to be wearing a darling little shirt that once belonged to Morgan when she was Ruthie's age. However, Morgan refused to wear it because it was green and at that time in her life she only wore pink.
I calmly left her room and let her melt-down run its course. As I listened to her, I totally had a flashback to my childhood and a colossal tantrum I once had about a certain pair of pink overalls.
And by the way...
She did not wear the sweater to school.

That's so cute (and I am biased because I have a sweater with the same collar).
I guess it's for reasons like that that Lydia goes around in a pink shirt, red skirt, purple leggings, and two different socks on. Sometimes, though, she actually comes up with something super cute that I would have never put together.
Dear Marci, Morgan just had her words confused. She was meaning to say "It's not COMFORTABLE" instead! I hear you Smoga! Comfort over fashion! Isn't that what you always taught me Jean?
So you're telling me I have lots to look forward to?
oh marci, marci, marci. i am dying over here. i really think parker and morgan were meant to be. parker has said THOSE SAME EXACT words to me. "mom, you don't know anything about what looks cute!" and more along those lines.
i can't even say anything to her about what she wears because it results in a huge blowup. it's insane around here.
you and i need to live by each other.
the end.
this sounds so familiar!!!!
oh that is so so so funny! Bahhhh ha ha!
I totally feel your pain.
I always pick out a cute outfit for Madison to wear to church and 9 times out of 10 she refuses! Soooo I too bribe!!
Well sorry that you don't know ANYTHING about fashion! ha!
